To the editor:

Joan Rosenfelt (March 16 Letters to the Editor) believes that all Governor Cuomo (a very rich and powerful older man) did to the women coming forward to state Cuomo sexually harassed them, was “flirt” with young, pretty women in the workplace. Would we be shocked if we found out that she believed everything those women claimed against Judge Kavanaugh?

My own experience with Cuomo happened years ago at an event held at Bethel Woods. I had been standing with a couple of local politicians, chatting after we had listened to some speeches, when Cuomo came over to talk to one of the men I was with. I was introduced and Cuomo stood there staring at my chest. I had said “Up here”. He turned and left. Needless to say, the men I was with nervously laughed.

Back then, I thought the Governor was just a jerk. Now, I see how his rising taxes and his support of criminals over public safety (the “bail reform” bill) have caused many thousands of NYS residents to flee this state because his policies have made it impossible for the middle class tax base to live here. He has shut down this state for too long.

Over the years, Cuomo has given our tax dollars to his friends for their special projects, many of which failed. He has spent our money so foolishly that the state needed a bail out from tax payers all over our country! Add to that, his order to force COVID positive patients into nursing homes which spread the virus and caused thousands of needless deaths. HIS order, HIS responsibility for those deaths.

We have multiple women (and some men!) bravely coming forward and telling us what it's been like to have to deal with a power hungry bully and sexist pig.

I think that Cuomo is a lot more than just a jerk. He has to go. Our state needs new leadership and the sooner the better!
