What’s new with Tri-Valley FBLA?

During the new school year, FBLA at Tri-Valley has sprung into action! The past years have been difficult while navigating COVID-19, but both the students and staff are more than excited to participate in a full range of business activities, fundraisers, and community events. Getting participation and interest in the club back after the lockdown was a rocky start at first, but Tri-Valley FBLA has successfully sprung into action.

Most notably so far, the National Fall Leadership Conference was held in Orlando, Florida. This conference provides both social and educational aspects for members. These conferences have successfully helped train students to communicate effectively, take leadership roles in everyday life, and prepare students to compete in the upcoming Spring State Leadership Conference. In their downtime, they enjoyed a trip to Universal Studios and Dave and Busters. This provided the young adults with an opportunity to take off their business wear and socialize.

On top of the National Fall Leadership Conference, FBLA has been keeping busy through other activities. Students have been taking part in the club’s annual Kringle Candle Fundraiser (along with other chocolates and goodies), where we raised a healthy total of $1,754.80. Students have also begun to prepare for their competitions in spring--whether they are taking a test, presenting an idea, or running a business-related simulation.

The members that place high enough in their chosen categories will go on to represent the school on a country-wide level during the National Leadership Conference. Tri-Valley is also planning to raise more money for the club’s expenses, and for students to help cover trip costs.

The two biggest events are the annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser and a spring Kringle Candle Fundraiser. These achievements have been heart-warming for the teachers and seniors at Tri-Valley, who can remember the club’s high participation before lockdown.
