MONTICELLO – 1st Way Life Center recently moved locations to 435 Broadway in Monticello and has made good use of its new location to provide help to low-income mothers and children who are in need of clean clothes, food and pregnancy and adoption options.

Everything they offer is free, offered year-round and they have supported around 500 families, according to the leader of the center, Annette Rein.  Their mission is for women and children to choose life with a mission statement reading, “we believe every child conceived carries a very special message from God and that this message will never be repeated again. Therefore it is our responsibility to provide the assistance and emotional support required for every woman or girl to carry her child to term in good health with dignity and peace and mind.”

Rein also said that walk-ins are welcome and a lot of families living in emergency housing and hotels are a lot of the people that come to do their laundry or get a bite to eat.

“On Tuesdays and Thursdays we provide bread and cakes to women in recovery,” Rein said. “Decrepit housing and homelessness are two of the biggest issues right now and we are here to provide help to those women and children in need of it.”

1st Way Life provides clothes for children from newborns up to teenagers and mothers. They also have toys and games for children.
