The 2026 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge has officially wrapped up after eight months of activities focused on firefighter health, wellness, and connection. Departments across Sullivan County participated in activities designed to support physical, nutritional, and mental well-being, earning Turtle Points along the way. Throughout the Challenge, firefighters incorporated wellness into their routines through exercise and outdoor activities, healthy meals and snacks, stress-management activities, health screenings, and opportunities to connect with fellow members. The Challenge encouraged departments to find practical ways to make healthy habits part of their everyday lives. The 2026 winners will be announced after the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association Parade on September 12 in Grahamsville, where all participating departments will be recognized for their commitment to firefighter wellness. The tally is hidden. The winners are waiting. Who will take the top spot?
