Healthiest Fire Department Challenge
The Sullivan 180 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge is complete! After 8 months of hard work, healthy activities, and firefighter camaraderie, it’s almost time to reveal the winners.
Departments finished strong by taking walks, having healthy snacks, working out, and attending community events. One department drank 376 gallons of water this month.
Smallwood-Mongaup Valley firefighters attended International Overdose Awareness Day and visited the Ellenville Regional Hospital HEAL Mobile. The HEAL Mobile provides Health screenings, Education, Access to resources, and Linkages to care. The firefighters did nutrition screenings, a cancer screening assessment, handgrip strength tests, and Know Your Numbers. Regular health screenings can help identify potential health concerns early and empower you to take steps toward better health.
Join us at the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association Parade on Sept. 12 in Grahamsville as we celebrate all of the departments that participated and reveal the 2026 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge winners.
