It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, Andrew Mikulski, who left us on Friday, July 19th.

He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and fisherman. His passion for firefighting included a career as a paid firefighter for the Middletown Fire Department. He was an honorary member spanning over 50 years. He was also a member of the Westbrookville Volunteer Fire Department for the last 44 years where he served as chief for a time.

He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate, Anne Mikulski, whom he married in 1980. His daughter Rita Burns, her husband David Burns and their son Patrick Burns. His daughter Meghan Henry, his daughter Kiersten Mikulski and her fiancé Jason Pellew. His son Ryan Mikulski, his wife, Randi Mikulski, and their children Lorelei and Andrew Mikulski. Patrick, Lorelei, and Andrew quickly became the loves of his life. Andy was their beloved “papa” who gave his all to move mountains for them. He is also survived by his sister Debbie and her husband Artie Fowler, his sister-in-law Karen Dugan, his sister-in-law Kathy Mikulski, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Helen Mikulski, his brother Robert Mikulski and his sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Vince Panero. The man he was to all will be forever missed.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Westchester Medical Center for all of the compassionate care that Andy received during his stay. We would especially like to thank Gurjit “Gee” Singh for being the most amazing nurse imaginable. Gee provided the best care and was there for him until the very end.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 29th from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Van Inwegen-Kenny Inc. funeral home in Wurtsboro, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at 11 AM at the funeral home, followed by graveside services at the Westbrookville cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Wurtsboro. For additional information or to send an online condolence, please visit www.kennyfuneralhome.com.
