LIBERTY – The Liberty Museum & Arts Center announced that it will host a closing art show and talk with celebrated artist Nina Hurwitz to mark the final days of her popular exhibition. The event offers a last chance for the public to engage with Hurwitz’s vibrant, deeply personal works and hear directly from the artist before the show concludes on Sunday, June 29.
Hurwitz’s exhibition has been a highlight of the museum’s Summer Show drawing praise for its energetic style and powerful narrative. Her work explores themes of love, forgiveness, and self-acceptance, rooted in her personal journey raised in the Hasidic community and finding her personal freedom and voice as an artist. Her use of dynamic, squiggly lines and a recurring heart motif has resonated strongly with visitors.
“This exhibition has been a beautiful dialogue with the Liberty community,” said Nina Hurwitz. “The heart symbol in my work is about connection, and I’ve felt a real connection here. I’m looking forward to sharing the final chapter of this experience and the stories behind the canvases during the closing talk. It’s a chance to have one last, meaningful conversation through art.”
The closing event will provide an intimate look into Hurwitz’s and other esteemed artists’ creative processes and the inspirations behind their captivating paintings.
The Liberty Museum & Arts Center is located at 46 South Main Street, Liberty. Exhibit hours are 12-4pm with Artist Talk at 2pm. For more information contact: 646-712-0444 IG: @ninaspaintlife.
