CALLICOON - Deacon Donald Prendergast, carried incense in a Thurifer and processed with guests from the Sunday Vigil Mass at Villa Roma on August 22, outside to the Villa's Peace Dove.

Father Bob Higgins, representing St. George's Church in Jeffersonville, spoke about how much we need peace in our world today before he blessed Villa Roma's Dove, which is on the Sullivan County Dove Trail.

He referenced Woodstock's 50th Anniversary last year, which celebrated a weekend of peace, love and music. Sullivan County Visitors Association commemorated the anniversary by creating Dove Trails that includes 50 doves spread out throughout the county.

Participants wore masks as they sang “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” prior to Father Higgins sprinkling Holy water on the mask clad dove and the crowd.

This year Villa Roma is celebrating their 50th anniversary and continues to serve the community and guests in a safe environment during this challenging time.
