Join us as we celebrate the remarkable lives of Anthony (Tony) P. Cellini and his beloved wife, Linda L. Cellini, two incredible individuals who left an indelible mark on their family and community. Their legacy of love and service will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing them.

Tony P. Cellini

Born on December 5, 1940, Tony lived a life defined by devotion—to his country, his family, and his community. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Tony’s service as a Military Policeman in the Fourth Infantry Division took him across Europe and deepened his appreciation for American freedoms. Tony dedicated much of his youth to service organizations, including the Salvation Army. After settling in Monticello, he became the well-loved proprietor of Roark’s Tavern, where lifelong friendships were forged, and his famous roast beef sandwiches became legendary.

Tony’s passion for helping others led him to public service, first as a councilman and then as Thompson Town Supervisor for 20 years. His open-door policy, straight talk, and deep commitment to the people made him a pillar of the community and attracted businesses large and small to invest in the success of Sullivan County.

Throughout his career and even in retirement, Tony’s love for his wife Linda remained unwavering as he lovingly cared for her through her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Linda L. Cellini

Linda was born on February 5, 1947, and lived a life filled with adventure, compassion, and service. As a TWA flight attendant, she traveled the world before settling in Monticello, where her dedication to her community flourished. Linda’s work as a local representative for Congressman Benjamin Gillman and NYS Senator John Bonacic earned her numerous accolades, including as a New York State Senate “Woman of the Year.”

Linda’s selfless dedication to supporting others was unmatched. She was a fierce advocate for her family during times of medical need, she always showed up to help a neighbor, often including by opening her home to those in crisis, and she worked tirelessly with the United Way, the YMCA, and other community based organizations. Linda’s vibrant spirit, her love for the New York Mets, and her devotion to her family made her a cherished presence in every life she touched.

Together, Tony and Linda built a beautiful family, and their love was evident in every part of their lives. They are survived by their sons, Todd (Kristen) of Arvada, Colorado, and Christopher (Christina) of Rock Hill, New York; their grandchildren, Doran, Lydia, and Emilia; “adopted” daughter, Meagan (Dan) Galligan; Tony’s brother, Charles (Jean); Linda’s brothers Edward, Jay, and James; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Their love for each other and their community will live on through the countless lives they impacted, and by all of those who “pay it forward” in their memory.
