Chester K. Smith, a lifelong resident of Monticello and retired Fuller Brush salesman passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the age of 96 in the home that was built by his father.

The son of Robert J. Smith and Margaret Kyle Smith, he was born November 1, 1927 in Monticello, NY.

He is survived by his sons:  Chet Smith (Pam) of Rock Hill, NY; David Smith (Sheila) of Dawsonville, GA; grandson David Smith (Melissa) of Athens, GA; granddaughter Catherine Kreuger (Cody) of Athens, GA; a great-granddaughter, Phoebe Kitton Smith and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Winifred Smith and brother, Robert Smith.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with a funeral service starting at 7:00 p.m.  Burial of Cremains will take place on Thursday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
