Bulldogs compete in Color Wars

LAKE HUNTINGTON – Sullivan West High School held its Color Wars on Thursday evening, March 14 in the Middle School/High School gymnasium. The freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes competed against each other in various events as the bleachers were jam-packed with supporters. The event is a fundraiser for the junior class.

Decked out in their senior red, junior blue, sophomore yellow and freshman green, the competitors partook in an obstacle course, dodgeball, free throw shootout, tug-of-war and gummy bear toss before finishing off with a lip-sync skit related to their class banner and class cake.

The class of 2023 won the previous two Color Wars to close out their high school careers. This year, the senior Class of 2024 took home first place after wins in the first three events before an intermission.

The sophomores took first place in the skit, while the freshmen took second place. For the created cakes, the juniors got the victory with the seniors in second.

For the overall placements, the sophomores came in second, juniors in third and freshmen in fourth.

“The juniors class would like to thank the many staff and community members who helped make this event a very successful fundraiser,” said Patricia Norden, an English teacher at Sullivan West.
