HORTONVILLE — The community’s generosity during the last fundraiser on August 10th at the Hortonville Fire House by the Cemeteries of Western Sullivan and Southern Delaware counties saw the raising of funds for the upcoming 2024 Wreath Day activities.
In the community, 25 public and private cemeteries participate in the Wreaths Across America tradition, where wreaths are laid in remembrance of and tribute to our dead military personnel.
This year’s Wreath Day ceremony is scheduled for December 14, with confirmed dates and locations yet to be announced.
To sponsor a wreath for this year’s Wreath Day, go to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/NY0423. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist with the planning and execution of putting the wreaths at the cemetery.
Those interested can write to them at waa@use.startmail.com or visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WAANYPAHC.
