BETHEL   The Sullivan County Democratic Committee held its convention on February 20.

By unanimous vote, the Committee endorsed the following candidates:

Kay said, “I am honored to have the endorsement of Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano, and the Sullivan County Democratic Committee to run for State Assembly.

“Being an elected official is about working with people and solving problems,” she said. “When I am elected I pledge to work with all people in this district for the greater good of the constituents which I will serve.

“It is critical that the 100th Assembly District is filled by someone who will continue Aileen’s incredible legacy of bring unwavering support to Orange and Sullivan counties,” she said.

The Orange County Democratic Committee is meeting on Sunday evening to make its endorsements.

Riley will challenge first term Congressman Marcus Molinaro in a re-match from 2022, when he lost by a narrow margin.

Frazier will challenge first-term State Senator Peter Oberacker.

Harris has been Sullivan County Coroner for more than 25 years.

“Sullivan County’s Democrats enthusiastically support this slate of candidates and are ready to roll up their sleeves to achieve a win for all of them in November,” said Democratic Committee Chair Anne Hart.
