Evelyn M. Miller of Jeffersonville, NY, a former cook at the Mangus Resort in Shandelee, NY and a longtime area resident died Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Ellen Memorial Nursing Home in Honesdale, PA. She was 93.

The daughter of the late George and Catherine Haier Spitzer, she was born October 10, 1931 in Scranton, PA.

Evelyn was a member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church for many years where she was active in the Grief Group. She was a member of St. Tammany Order of Eastern Star # 298, Livingston Manor, NY. For many years she had been a piano teacher for local residents.

Devoted to her family and friends, Evelyn enjoyed entertaining guests, cooking, baking, sewing, and feeding the ducks and birds in her backyard.

Survivors include one son, Howard E. Miller and his wife Carla of Gouldsboro, PA; one daughter, Sheryl Taylor and her husband, The Rev. Thomas Taylor of Hoosick Falls, NY; one daughter-in-law, Christine Miller of White Sulphur Springs, NY; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nephews and six nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard S. Miller, one daughter, Lenore Miller and one son, Gary Miller.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11 AM in the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, Route 52, White Sulphur Springs, NY.  The Rev. Joycalyn M. Jordan will officiate.

Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.
