FALLSBURG — On May 31, 2024, the Fallsburg Central School District hosted their first annual Community Awards Banquet at Tarry Brae Golf Course. The ceremony recognized eighteen seniors who received scholarships from the Fallsburg Alumni Association, Kiwanis Club of Woodridge, Lions Club, and Samuel Beytin Fallsburg Central Community Scholarship Fund. The scholarship recipients are as follows:

Samuel Beyin Fallsburg Central Community Scholarship: Jasmine Acevedo, Mia Irlbacher, Angelina Levner, Elizabeth Rivas-Ferrufino and Nadiushka Rosa Gonzalez. 

• Estyr Mintz Memorial Scholarship: Jaedon Espinoza

• Candy Gold Memorial Scholarship: Ezekiel Acosta

• Blossom Cohen Memorial Scholarship: Rugiatu Sesay

• Milton Brizel Memorial Scholarship: Rugiatu Sesay

• Edward Bryan Memorial Scholarship: Asly Avila Reyes

• Fallsburg Lions Annual Achievement Award: Jaedon Espinoza, Adira GreerPadilla, Angelina Levner, Adam Mednick, Alexandra Ruiz, Rugiatu Sesay, and Charlotte Steingart.

• Kiwanis Club of Woodridge Scholarship: Jasmine Acevedo, Emma DeGraw, Jaedon Espinoza, Nadiushka Rosa Gonzalez, Angelina Levner, Adam Mednick and Rugiatu Sesay

• Fallsburg Alumni Award: Alexander DePuy, Jaedon Espinoza, Mia Irlbacher, Jacob Lawrence, Emily Perna and Charlette Steingart

• Jack Leshner Memorial Award: Angelina Levner

• Sheryl Kalter Memorial Scholarship: Adam Mednick

• Robynne Anderman Scholarship: Nikolas Bonner

• Mona Bogan Memorial Award: Alexandria Ruiz

“The first annual community awards banquet has done a wonderful job bringing together our various scholarships and scholarship organizations under one roof,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ivan Katz. “The event was exceptionally successful and will now be our sole scholarship event to honor and recognize our students each year. Kudos to all who put this event together!”
