The  JAZZ Event held at The Backyard Park last Saturday night featuring Thurman and Noah Barker with several other very talented musicians was a great performance! Thank you to the patrons that joined them for a special night out and to the JEMS volunteers for working hard to make it a success.

Next event in The Backyard Park ( 21 Lovett Lane, Jeffersonville) is an Outdoor movie ! Coming to you by popular demand – on Friday, August 2nd , “The Lion King”! Gates Open at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk. Before the screening of ‘The Lion King’ please join us for a reading of ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson, the author of ‘The Gruffalo’ and many other modern classics. What happens when a wee monkey gets lost in the jungle and is in search of his mum? A well-meaning butterfly comes to the rescue as they puzzle together how to reunite him and his mother. Confusion and fun ensue. Presented by Ratty Books! Bring your family and friends and join them for a FREE outdoor movie! Be sure to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.  Some fun goodies for the kids! Light refreshments will be available to purchase and donations are gratefully accepted. All proceeds will be used for beautification projects in Jeffersonville. Sorry, no pets are allowed. The Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department is having their 1st Annual Car Show on Sunday, July 28th. (318 Gulf Road, Roscoe) Gates open at 9 a.m. and anything with a motor is welcome to join them. Cost is $15 to register your vehicle and free to spectators. There will be vehicles to admire, music, food, vendors and more. FMI: Call Tom Darbee at 845-866-0673.

Get ready for the Friends of the Library Annual Firehouse Book Sale on August 8th, 9th, and 10th at the Jeffersonville Firehouse.  The Friends need your help!  Sign up at the Jeffersonville Branch or call the library at 845-482-4350 if you can volunteer to move the boxes, set up, help during the sale, or pack up after the sale.
