Jennie Lee Worden (Heisler), age 78, a longtime Sullivan County resident, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Jennie was born February 28, 1944, in Liberty N.Y., the daughter of Edward and Philena (Hotchkin) Heisler.

She attended Liberty High School, graduated from beauty school in Binghamton, N.Y., and began pursuing her dream of being a beautician. On April 23, 1964, she married her lifelong partner and best friend Roy “Porky” Worden at the Liberty Methodist Church, later they moved to Hurleyville, N.Y. to begin their lives together and raised their daughter Jamie. Jennie enjoyed volunteering in her community, she was a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of America and she also served at Sunday school in the Hurleyville Methodist Church for many years. Jennie was a wonderful cook and baker who enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, and in her spare time she loved watching game shows. She had great talent with crocheting and loved participating in her weekly bowling and bingo. She touched the lives of many with her outspoken personality, generosity, spunkiness, and joyful smile. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

Memories of Jennie will be cherished by her family: husband Roy “Porky” Worden and daughter Jamie (Worden) Decker, proud grandmother of Kearstin DeGraw, Briana (DeGraw) Gonzalez, and Mikayla DeGraw. She was a loving great-grandmother of Aria, Luca, and Ariel and took great pride in her family. In addition, Jennie is survived by her sister, Eileen Johnson; her son-in-law, Victor Decker; “sister” Mary Lee Williams; and her godson, Christopher Carlson. She is further remembered by her nieces, nephews, grandson-in-law Thomas and Johnny, longtime friends, and the many four-legged furry family members. Jennie will join her angels who stood with her in her journey through life, her parents Edward and Philena, her sister Jean Allison, brothers-in-law Paul Johnson and Harold Allison.

Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering in remembrance of Jennie on Friday, October 21, 2022, between 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
