Jill Elizabeth Schulman, a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at her home in Masten Lake, New York. She was 78.

The daughter of the late Donald Schaffer and Elizabeth Malloy Schaffer, she was born December 5, 1945 in Orange, New Jersey.

During her life in Sullivan County Jill was employed as an RN at Hamilton Avenue Hospital, and the Sullivan County Sherrif’s Department and with her daughter, Samantha, owned and operated a gift service, Jilly’s Gourmet Baskets.

Jill was devoted to animal rescue and went to great lengths contributing both time and money to local animal shelters as well as participating in home foster care and adoption. She was the proud mother to dogs Calie and Moe as well as Itzy Bitsy the cat at the time of her death as well as a lifetime of departed cats, dogs and a hamster.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Mark Schulman, at home; a daughter: Samantha Schulman Lara and her husband Donald; granddaughter: Sophie Elizabeth Schulman Lara; her siblings: Donald Schaffer, Peter Schaffer (Susan Buguet), Sarajane Lister (Richard) and Robin Mariani (Brian); and ten nieces and nephews: Peter, Tyler, Olivia and Andrew Lister, Kayla, Rose, Brayden, Jay and Eli Mariani, and Joseph Schaffer.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and any services will be held at the convenience of the family.
