Liberty garage goes up in flames

LIBERTY  — At 5:29 a.m Monday morning, Liberty Fire Department sprang into action, responding to a distress call about a raging garage fire at 32 Woodland Avenue.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, only to find that the intense flames had already begun to spread to the upper floors of the house. A second alarm was immediately requested. 

Responding to the call for assistance were multiple fire departments, including the Town of Bethel Fast Team, White Lake, Livingston Manor, Loch Sheldrake, Monticello and White Sulphur Springs fire departments.

The Neversink Fire Department was on standby in Station 17 in Liberty, ready to respond to any emergencies.

There were no injuries reported and the building was empty at the time of the incident.

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
