WEST SHOKAN — A Grahamsville firefighter was reportedly struck and “seriously hurt” by a Grahamsville fire engine while operating at a fire call on Wednesday afternoon, January 10.

During Thursday morning’s Public Safety and Law Enforcement Committee meeting of the Sullivan County Legislature, Sullivan County Fire Coordinator John Hauschild briefed the committee.

According to Hauschild, the firefighter, who was not named by the Fire Coordinator in his report, was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he is being treated for his injuries.

“The firefighter is in stable condition, which is good, he’s talking. But please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers,” Hauschild said.
