Pancakes and local ice cream to be served this Saturday

DAMASCUS, PA – To celebrate the last hot month of the summer season, there will be local ice cream topping the pancakes served at the Damascus Manor Community Center (DMCC) breakfast on Saturday, August 10  from 8 a.m. to noon at its facility at 60 Conklin Hill Road, Damascus, PA. 

A scoop of locally made Wahoo vanilla ice cream will be offered along with the rest of the very local fare prepared by the volunteers of DMCC. 

Breakfast will include classic and buckwheat pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, and applesauce. Eggs are from Tom Candela’s coops. Syrup is provided by Jeff & Linda Dexter, members of NEPA Maple Syrup Producers. Of course, there will be coffee and juice.

Wayne County has a long tradition of dairy farming in a state that has the second highest number of dairy farm families in the country. Wahoo ice cream is made in Damascus Township and is served forth from its store at 169 Galilee Road, Tyler Hill, PA 18469.

People from near and far are welcome for country breakfast, camaraderie and conversation with neighbors and new friends for $12/adults, $7/children 12 and under. (Cash only please.)

Proceeds from these breakfasts fund worthy causes in the community,including local first responders.Recycling will take place from 9-noon in the parking lot.
