RedHawks fall to Raiders despite Totten's 25

LIBERTY — Liberty and Port Jervis met up on Monday afternoon for a league contest, just a few days after facing off in the Seward holiday tournament.

Both teams entered the night looking to clinch a win and get closer to their hopes of a Sectional Berth as they battled in the Hawks nest, but it was the Raiders who went home with a 68-42 win behind a dominant 50-point performance by Isaiah Boucher.

Both clubs started slow after the back-to-back weekend games, but Isaiah Boucher was the first to score in the contest on his way to a game-high 50 points.

Both teams deployed their press early, and sloppy offensive play kept the score low in the early going.

Once Boucher got his second bucket of the night, around four minutes into the game, the flood gates opened. Boucher finished with 50 points after shooting 10/13 from beyond the arc as the Raiders got the 68-42 league win.

The RedHawks were led by senior guard Riley Totten who amassed 25 points and relentlessly tried to keep the game close on both sides of the ball. Totten was able to get downhill easily and broke through the Raiders’ defensive schemes time and again, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

The Raiders were able to grab an early first place lead in the Class A division, but the RedHawks players made sure to express that they’ll be ready the next night that these two face off.
