Snowy weather puts a hold on Dick “Coach” O’Neill Jingle Ball Classic

MONTICELLO–– As winter sports season gets under way many games and matches have been cancelled due to inclement weather. Some preliminary games have been played but the championships have been postponed until January 4.

This is the 12th year for the Annual Jingle Ball Classic that was created to benefit the Monticello High School (MHS) Holiday Toy Drive.

The tournament was established to honor Coach Dick O’Neill’s 30-year career dedicated to the sport and the youth of our community. Participating teams include hometown host, Monticello Panthers, Valley Central Vikings, Walkill Panthers and Chester Academy Hambletonians.

Be sure to check the sports section of the Democrat for a full recap of the tournament in January.
