SULLIVAN COUNTY – The 2022-23 school year is getting closer and closer to its finale, with the full slate of spring sports being the final hurdle.

A few teams started their seasons before spring break, but with the students returning to the classroom, the season is primed for an unofficial start.

There are 40 contests from today until Friday, with most teams throughout Sullivan County getting their first taste of game action.

Today, Fallsburg and Liberty Softball will take to the field for a 4 p.m. start. Eldred, coming off of their Section IX Championship run, will take on Seward at 4:30.

Fallsburg and Monticello will both be hosting track meets on Wednesday that feature other schools from around the county.

Golfers will be scattered across courses this week as well. Sullivan West boys and girls will play at Villa Roma this Thursday. Tri-Valley boys will play at Lynx in Port Jervis and the Lady Bears will be at Lochmor on Thursday as well.

With the great weather in the forecast this week, it should offer plenty of opportunity to get out and support the local student athletes that work hard to prepare for their seasons.
