We’re approaching the halfway point of May, and Monticello continues to increase their lead in the top spot. Eclipsing the 300 point mark, Monticello is sitting comfortably at 308 points with a 59 point lead over Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department, currently with 249 points. Kauneonga Lake rounds out the Top-3 with 241 points.

The Healthiest Fire Department Challenge was meant to be a platform for many things. First and foremost, the health of our volunteer firefighters, but also to bring neighboring departments together in comradery and to support each other on a journey towards mental and physical health. This week, Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Department invited and hosted a department walk and a health-focused brunch with White Lake Fire Dept. and Kauneonga Lake Fire Dept. Members of the three departments joined with their families and pets to spend their Saturday together, supporting their efforts within the challenge and within their own personal health goals.
