LIVINGSTON MANOR — Due to the inclement weather last week, Livingston Manor was forced to postpone the opening round of the Audra Sipple Spath Memorial Tournament from Friday to Saturday. The second round, originally slated for Saturday, was moved to February 17.

Despite the cold weather, Sullivan West and Tri-Valley managed to stay hot as they defeated Livingston Manor and Liberty respectively in the opening round.

In the first game, the Lady Bears and Lady RedHawks battled for a chance to play in the championship round. Tri-Valley’s offense continued to shine, putting up an impressive 58 points in the 58-31 victory. The high score, which was the highest of the two opening round games, will make them the home team in the Championship.

Following the Tri-Valley and Liberty game, Sullivan West took on the tournament hosts.

Sullivan West’s offense stayed hot, opening the game with 21 points in the first quarter to break open a 21-4 lead early in the game.

An additional 17 points in the second quarter gave Sullivan West a 38-6 lead by halftime.

Sullivan West’s offense slowed down in the second half, scoring 14 in the third and just two points in the fourth as they coasted to a 54-16 victory.
