Sullivan West Volleyball earns first win!

Liberty — Sullivan West Volleyball has had an up and down start to the season. After opening the season with a loss to Monticello, they visited Liberty on Monday evening and defeated the Lady RedHawks three sets to one with scores of 25-12, 19-25, 25-22 and 25-11.

“I am very proud of how the girls are working together to make the necessary adjustments to accomplish strategic advancements in our game. They are developing good attitudes and it shows in their team play.”

Boys Soccer

Monticello hosted Valley Central on Monday afternoon and the Panthers lost 6-0. The Valley Central pressure was too much for Monticello as they were unable to score a goal in the contest.

Fallsburg defeated Ellenville 3-1 in their season opener on Monday, but fell 5-1 to Beacon on Wednesday afternoon.

The RedHawks got their first win of the season with a 4-0 league victory over Port Jervis. Kelvin Turcios Mejia, Riley Totten, Brayan Hernandez and Angel Espinoza scored in the Liberty win.

Girls’ Soccer

Livingston Manor hosted Burke on Tuesday after their consolation win over Liberty on Saturday. The Class C school defeated Livingston Manor 5-0.

Valley Central defeated Monticello 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Volleyball

Seward defeated Fallsburg in three sets, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-19 in the Lady Comets’ season opener on Monday evening. The team rebounded on Wednesday as they visited Sullivan West and won 3-1 with sets of 21-26, 25-10, 25-16 and 25-17.

Cross Country

Tri-Valley defeated LM and Homestead 15-50 both boys and girls on Tuesday afternoon. Neither Homestead nor Livingston Manor had enough runners to qualify as a team.
