Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Tau Chapter, met November 14th at BOCES in Liberty. Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Tau Chapter’s guest speaker, Meaghan Mullally-Gorr, Director of Health and Wellness at Sullivan 180, gave an informative presentation about the mission of Sullivan 180 to help improve the health and well-being of residents, young and old, here in Sullivan County. She provided statistics to show the need for building a healthier community, through a focus on prevention by working within the school districts to improve mental health, nutrition and physical fitness. Ms. Mullally-Gorr discussed with members the many programs utilized throughout county school districts to help empower a healthier generation. Members shared how they see some of these initiatives in their respective schools. Ms. Mullally-Gorr provided additional information as to how to get involved with Sullivan 180.
