Two bands to perform in Honesdale Central Park

HONESDALE, PA —The Wayne County Creative Arts Council is pleased to present two great bands for their first event on the new stage in Honesdale’s Central Park.  On Thursday, June 13th at 7:30 pm, a favorite band in the park, Lighten Up will kick off the inaugural presentation. A new group to the WCCAC’s roster is Poison Love.

Lighten Up! is a variety band that some have said puts a country flavored twist on the entire musical experience.  Frontman Randy Light endeavors to involve the whole audience with “call and response” songs and good ol” hootenany handclapping as he plays his guitar on the run through the crowd. Rose Light belts out Janis Joplin or sings velvety Patsy Cline to bring you back in time.  Firp Edmunds (bass), Ralph Liberto (sax) and Andy Pace (drums) provide a seasoned professional rhythm section to round out your good time feeling with Lighten Up!

Poison Love Band presents a special fusion of acoustic, New-Americana with a focus on lead fiddle, guitar, percussion harmonies and original songwriting. Their dynamic style combines various cultural traditions, giving a unique edge to their performance. Hailing from the Upper Delaware River Valley, their music is inspired by the rural surroundings. They strive to bring people together through the power of live music and community building.

Dan Brinkerhoff, the lead fiddle and vocalist, brings a unique fiddle style that reflects the adventurous essence of the Wild West where he hails from. With his high-pitched vocals, he has been likened to the legendary Neal Young.

Joanne Brinkerhoff, songwriter, guitarist and harmony singer, her songwriting beautifully weaves together elements of 60’s and 70’s country, rock and folk, creating a unique and captivating musical style.

Sammy Alexander is a multitalented musician who plays drums, percussion, bass and harmonica. He is also skilled in sound engineering, singing, songwriting and production.
