Volunteer Appreciation Week

Volunteer Appreciation Week begins April 18th this year. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated, compassionate volunteers in our county.

During the pandemic, neighbors are helping neighbors, volunteers are selflessly donating their time to distribute food to fellow residents in need and help at vaccination clinics, and people we know are going above and beyond.

Every act, big or small, makes a difference in someone else's life. Now is the time to say ‘thank you' for all you do.

Our libraries have amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to support and enhance the work we all do in our communities.

From helping at the library, to serving as a board member, writing book reviews, organizing book sales and other fundraisers, and countless other undertakings, these individuals are a vital part of our organizations. THANK YOU to every library volunteer for your generosity and service over the years.

Volunteering not only makes a difference in others' lives, but it can also benefit you and your health.

According to AARP.org, the mental and physical health benefits can range from decreasing risk of depression, reducing stress levels, keeping active mentally and physically, and enjoying a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

If you are interested in volunteering, call some of the dozens of organizations in our county to learn about opportunities available.

Help us celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week by taking a minute to recognize and thank all of the volunteers for the incredible impact they have on our communities.
