LAKE HUNTINGTON – Once a year, the Sullivan West students from grades 9-12 gathered for the annual Color Wars competition. It is a night of fun and frolic as the classes vie against one another in the obstacle course, dodgeball, free throw shootout, steal the bacon, tug of war, crab soccer, jellybean toss, banner and cake competition and finally the lip sync battle of the skits.

With jam packed bleachers full of supporters decked out in the senior red, junior blue, sophomore yellow or freshman green, the night is full of cheers and laughter.

Last year the Class of 2023, then juniors, upset the seniors by dint of winning the skit war. This year, their skit was once again terrific as their theme of the video heroics of Mario won the hearts of the judges amid cheers from the assembled hordes.

The classes finished in descending order with the seniors in first, the juniors in second, the sophomores in third and the freshmen in fourth.  The seniors amassed 29.5 points in total, besting the juniors by seven points. They won the obstacle course, tug of war, steal the bacon, best cake and tied with the juniors in the basketball shootout.
