‘Wayne Memorial Therapists saved my life’

HONESDALE, PA — On Thursday, May 9th, when Ted Moser, White Mills, showed up for his physical therapy appointment in Honesdale, staff said “he did not look good.”  Michelle Marcho and Sarah Langendoerfer, physical therapy assistants at Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services at the Route Six Mall, immediately encouraged Moser, 67, to seek help—go the Emergency Department!  His vital signs were very poor, said Marcho, “and he looked awful.”  Ted agreed. “When I saw myself in the mirrors there, I was purple.”   A family member took Moser to his cardiologist in Scranton, who recommended immediate hospitalization. At Regional Hospital, Moser was admitted and a stent was placed in his heart—his fifth.  “They told me at the hospital that if I hadn’t come in, I would have had a major heart attack and probably would not have survived the weekend,” said Moser, “these two ladies (Michelle and Sarah) saved my life. I wanted to come back and thank them!”

Trained in health care, both Marcho and Langendoerfer were able to determine that Moser needed urgent care. “He wasn’t the same Teddy we knew,” said Langendoerfer, “and we’re glad he took our advice and came back to let us know how he’s doing.”

Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services offers outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy. For more information, visit www.wmh.org or call (570) 253-7322.
