QUEENSBURY – The NYSPHSAA Cross-Country Championships took place this weekend at Queensbury High School. Sullivan West and Tri-Valley schools were both represented by outstanding talent, sending a total of 16 student-athletes between the two Sullivan County schools.

One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was the Tri-Valley girls' cross-country team winning the Class D title.  Led by junior Anna Furman, who finished the course in 18:06.9, a full thirty seconds before second-place finisher from Pine Plains. Furman repeated as individual first place champion for the second year in a row. Eighth grader Maria Gelsomino of TV landed in the top twenty and finished second for her school with a time of 20:00.7.

Gracyn Halloran of Sullivan West finished her 5000-meter run in a time of 20:47.

As we roll into season, some of these athletes will be moving onto their winter sport of choice, while a select few prepare for the NY Federations Championships this Saturday, November 22, in Wappingers Falls. Full results for all participating student athletes from Sullivan County are below.
