Allen Eugene Kellam of Mileses, NY, a retired Chief Warrant Officer, Third Class, and a lifelong area resident died peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2024 at University Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. He was 93.
The son of the late Eugene and Madeline McCullagh Kellam, he was born April 2, 1930 in Callicoon, NY.
After graduating from Delaware Valley Central School in 1948, he joined the U.S. Army. He served our country for 23 years and was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. After retirement, Allen resided in Mileses, NY, raised dairy cattle and sold antique furniture for many years. He enjoyed traveling the world and took many trips including multiple trips to Germany in the years up to his death.
Survivors include four daughters, Daryl (Richard) Cucci, Alison (Charles) Krull, Laura (Dennis) Pratt and Janet (Stephen) DiBiase; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Miriam (VanGinhoven) Kellam, his sister Hazel (Ray) Lambrigger, a stepson, David Tobin, a daughter, Priscilla Elias and a granddaughter, Melissa Krull.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Damien Garofalo presiding.
Burial with military honors will be in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.
Memorial contributions in Allen’s name may be made to the Delaware Youth Center, Callicoon, NY 12728.
