GRAHAMSVILLE – The weather was ideal last Wednesday in Grahamsville for an April outdoor track meet. A stark contrast to the 2025 season that welcomed flurries during a few practice days on the track. Coaches see this opportunity of hosting and participating in a dual meet as a great way to gain experience. Athletes might also experiment with additional events to develop new skills.
“I am very proud of the effort my student athletes are putting in, and I feel we are off to an excellent start. We have had many PRs already” said Eldred’s Head Coach Lisa Marie Drewett.
According to Drewett, seniors Koen McGill and Connor Ranaudo are ones to watch, and Tabitha Smith, also a senior, “continues to be consistent in all her events.”
For the host team, Tri-Valley Bears, they continue to make their presence known with the TV girls finishing the day 99-13 over Eldred and the TV boys sealed a 72-44 victory. A few solid performances from the Bears were Santino Haffner’s 35’5” finish in the triple jump to finish second, Logan Weyant’s 15.5 second finish in the 110 hurdles, and Ali Bashir, and Chris Prousalis’s throws of 100’9 and 96’.8 in the discus.
After the meet TV girls Head Coach Skylar Musa said, “We use the dual meets as training, so we aren’t necessarily looking for spectacular marks. However, some highlights were the girls triple jump, Savannah Chaboty’s 14’5” in long jump, Addison Dymond’s 7’0 in pole vault, JoHanna Clarke threw a 101’5 in the discus, Lily Schoonmaker’s 16.75 in the 100 hurdles, and Amaya Meade with a finishing time of 2.49 in the 800 meter.”
Both teams are scheduled to be back on the field on Wednesday, April 22 at 4:30 pm. The Bears will be on home turf again against Chapel Field and Eldred will be on the road at Port Jervis.
