Bulldogs headed to O’Neill to face off against Tigers

HIGHLAND FALLS — Earlier this season fans were treated to a battle between an immovable force and an unstoppable object. The (at the time) undefeated Sullivan West Bulldogs traveled to Pawling to take on the undefeated Tigers.

Pawling capitalized on key Sullivan West injuries and a strong second half to handily win 36-6 after only leading 14-6 at the half.

The Tigers have been on an absolute warpath this season, averaging 41.5 points per game and outscoring opponents this season 332-70.

Sullivan West’s games have been much closer, with the Bulldogs outscoring opponents 186-116. The Bulldogs defense has been stellar, allowing just 38 points across their four league wins.

The Bulldogs battled from behind in their playoff game against Fallsburg, after trailing 14-0 and 20-8 to complete the comeback and win 22-20 in the final minute of the game.

The Bulldogs will certainly have their work cut out for them tonight as they face off against the Tigers with the 8-Man championship on the line.

Last year, Tri-Valley was able to get the better of Pawling in the playoffs when the latter was undefeated. Sullivan West has the opportunity to do the same tonight, and will look to let the dawgs out tonight to bring home the win.
