CALLICOON  – The Callicoon Kiwanis Club held its 79th Annual Installation Dinner on Monday, October 14 at the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center.

More than 30 Kiwanians, representing four Kiwanis Clubs in the Hudson River West Division, were in attendance for the dinner.

Calllicoon Kiwanis President Patricia Ellmauer welcomed those in attendance and also praised her club for the work they had done during the previous year.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.

With that focus on youth, the Callicoon Kiwanis Club donates to the Delaware Youth Center, Red Dog Football, AYSO Soccer, Sullivan West Drama Club, Delaware Valley Rifle Club and many other youth-related organizations and causes.

Soup Sale Canceled; donations still welcome

The Callicoon Kiwanis had to announce the cancelation of its Election Day Soup Fest due to regulations imposed by the Sullivan County Board of Elections, according to Kiwanis members.

Sponsored by the Callicoon Kiwanis and Literacy Partners of Sullivan West, the annual Soup Fest was held at the same location as the polling place in Town of Delaware Election District No. 1.

This is the largest fundraiser for Literacy Partners and the money raised is used to purchase books for students in grades pre-K - sixth grade.

The Club is asking for donations to help fund the Literacy Partners and they can be sent to: Literacy Partners of Sullivan West, C/O Anne Knack, Treasurer, 218 Country Lane, Callicoon, New York 12723.
