Charlotte Marguerite (Brown) Tessier

Charlotte passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022 at Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home in Warrington, PA surrounded by her family. She was 92. Born in St. Louis, Missouri. Charlotte was the daughter of the late Dr. Leighton Brown and Marguerite Brown (Weilmunster).  She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Joseph H. Tessier, her son Craig Tessier, her brother F. Joseph Brown and her sister Julia Pollard (Brown).  She is survived by her sons, Robert (Gebriela), Joseph (Marketa) and Gary Tessier, her four grandchildren, Dr. Robert, Oliver, David A. and Martin Tessier, her brother Martin Brown and her half-sister Sandra Brown.  

Charlotte was a teacher and retired from the New Egypt School System NJ. She also taught in Patchogue NY, Santa Marta, Colombia, and Lucerne, Switzerland. She was a proud alumni of Saint Francis University, where she received her BA in Education, and of Fordham University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Education.

Charlotte loved her home in Smallwood, New York and would play classical music and show tunes on her piano for her family. Her favorites were Fur Elise by Beethoven and Memory from the Broadway show “Cats.” She loved opera and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.

Charlotte was a founding member and longtime Board Member of the Smallwood Civic Association. She loved the lake and the beach, and one of her favorite places in town was Friends Pub. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Monticello, NY. 

Charlotte always had a smile and fully enjoyed her life and travels. She gave so much to the children in her classrooms, and was a generous, kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga, NY from 2- 4p.m. and 6-8p.m. on December 30. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
