HAMILTON, NY – The father-daughter team of Ken and Gabby Cohen finished tied for third at the New York State Golf Association’s Mixed Team Championship held August 12 at Seven Oaks Golf Club on the campus of Colgate University.
The Cohen duo finished one-over par, four shots off the lead. The tournament is played using the Modified Chapman format in which each player hits a drive, then hits the other player’s ball. From there, it’s straight alternate shot. A team must be comprised of a male and female.
The Cohens were a shaky three-over after their first five holes before making birdies on four of the next nine holes to get back to even par. A bogey on their last hole kept them out of a tie for second. Their total of five birdies for the round was the most by any of the 56 teams.
