Dear Editor,

It takes a tough woman to be supported by law enforcement. It takes a smart, dynamic and compassionate one to get the endorsement of the teacher’s union.

Paula Kay is both, and that is why I am supporting her to be our next Assemblymember representing the 100th Assembly District.

Sullivan County is complicated. We can both have booming tourism and be one of the most unhealthy counties in New York State. We can offer some of the best natural beauty and be ranked number one for the highest opioid deaths per county. We can be a place that many people sought to move to during Covid and also have a severe housing crisis.

Sullivan County needs a representative in Albany that understands us. We cannot afford to have a representative that will use us as their “on the job training.”

You can choose to vote for someone who strongly supports a woman’s right to choose. To ensure that our daughters have the same rights we did.

You can choose to vote for someone who has lived here for 30 years. Raised her family here. Worked here. Or you can vote for someone who showed up here to ask for your vote.

I am a Republican who has lived here all my life, but in November when it comes for voting for our next representative to the New York State Assembly, I am voting not on party lines, but for the person who can best represent us.

I support my party but I love my county. While Sullivan County may be complicated, the choice in November for New York State Assembly is not. I am voting for the one that gets us. I am voting for Paula Kay.
