Long Eddy Car show sees turnout ‘beyond expectations’

Posted

Motor enthusiasts and community members alike showed up on Sunday, September 15 to the annual Long Eddy Car Show to feast their eyes on all different kinds of motors.

“The turnout for this event was beyond expectations,” said sponsor and organizer, Dwayne Hubbert, owner of Hankins Tire and Auto. “There were 30 cars on Main Street which is roughly 150 feet long. So that’s a good showing for a small town.”

According to Hubbert, this event was also made possible by the sponsorship of four garages that chipped in – Possemato Auto Sales & Service of East Branch, R&J Auto Body Inc. and Ken’s Automotive Service Inc. of Port Jervis and Hankins Tire and Auto.

Banners for the event were also provided courtesy of Eagle Valley Marketing. The sponsorship also saw the providing of 13 trophies to be awarded at the show.

Hubbert said that the event’s conception comes from the desire of a bunch of local “antique car nuts” that wanted to get together, share a drink and show off their cars.

“It was nice to see all the guys with their local antiques,” Hubbert recalled, “I can’t wait to do it again next year.”
