George A. Pellam, of Liberty, passed away on March 4, 2024.  He was 86.

George was born in Liberty, NY on December 17, 1937 to Alfred Pellam and Elsie Vakiener. He was a skilled mechanic, employed by the Town of Liberty Highway Department. George married the love of his life, Joan Schrader, and together they raised a loving family. Over the years he was active with his hobbies and in various community organizations; he was past Captain of the JC Young Fire Company, a member of the Fir Brook Hunting Club, and he also enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and hunting. Most of all, George cherished his beloved family.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Joan (Schrader) Pellam; his children, Tammy Gibson and her husband Frank of White Sulphur Springs and Tim Pellam and his wife Terri of Old Forge NY; his grandchildren Kira Wolcott and her husband Eric of Livingston Manor, Jessica Brown and her husband Jason of Corinth, NY, Brett Fiske and his wife Aubreigh of Swan Lake, NY; his great-grandchildren, Hailey and Cassie Wolcott, Cole Brown, and Arabella and Axel Fiske; his sister Janet Levine; his special sister-in-law Louise Watson and her husband Tim of Liberty; longtime friend Frank Gibson, Sr. of White Sulphur Springs; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He will be missed by his loved ones, friends, and all who knew him.

A visitation was held at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 275 South Main Street, Liberty, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 11 am-1 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Internment took place immediately following at Liberty Cemetery.
