Restoration work is underway to repair the Western Hotel’s ballroom, which has been a neighborhood mainstay for more than 150 years. Suffragette gatherings, firemen’s balls, and town-wide celebrations like Dickens on the Delaware are just a few of the noteworthy occasions that have taken place in the Historic Ballroom throughout its history.
Now, the Western Hotel, located at 22 Upper Main St, Callicoon, will hold its Raise the Roof fundraising event on Saturday, November 16 at 4 p.m., with the goal of restoring this historic ballroom that is on the national register of historic locations.
“Our goal is to revitalize this historic location and make it the center of our community once more, serving as a vibrant hub for community events, wellness, and the arts,” stated owner Irene Nickolai. “We want to establish a bustling hub that stimulates the local economy, attracts tourists, and re-energizes the area during the slowest seasons in our town, which are spring and winter.”
An “unforgettable evening” honoring its illustrious past, promising future, and feeling of community it reflects is what the event promises.
This Benefit Gala is an important milestone in the restoration of the ballroom, and attendees will be able to make a significant contribution.
During the event, there will be: Cocktails and appetizers, exclusive silent and live auction, dinner and a show with live music and burlesque performances, exciting casino games and dancing with renowned NYC DJs to conclude the night.
Guests are welcome to participate in this amazing metamorphosis. This is a one-of-a-kind chance to celebrate, leave a lasting impression, and generate memories that will last for years.
“Farm Arts Collective has been creating and connecting at the Western Ballroom since 2018, hosting several fundraisers, winter residency rehearsals, and community workshops. It’s been a vibrant gathering space for so many community members, and we’ve cherished every moment here,” shared Tannis Kowalchuk from Farm Arts Collective. “The hotel’s atmosphere fuels my creativity, making it an inspiring and comfortable place to work.”
