I know Fall is officially here but I still have one hummingbird that is still flying around my flowers! 

Gentle reminder: Hilly Acres Farm is hosting” Farm Fest” (located at 32 Wahl Road, Jeffersonville), Saturday, September 28th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lots to do! Meet the Animals, Exhibitions by the  4-H & FFA, Antique tractors, music, fun & games, farm fresh food, hayrides, pumpkin decorating, and local craft vendors! FMI: Call 845-482-4296.

The Western Sullivan Public Library at the Jeffersonville Branch,  is having a Board Game Day on Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.in their Community Room. You can bring your own board and/or card games to play and share with others and they have games like UNO, chess, checkers, Cranium, Scrabble, Trivia Pursuit and more too! A great opportunity for all boys and girls – Grades K-5 ! Join Cub Scouting today and join in the fun of Cub Scout Pack 1717. Come to the White Sulphur Springs Fire Dept. Hall, Rte. 52 in White Sulphur Springs on Tuesday, October 1st at 6 p.m. to sign up and have some fun at a Magic Show while you find out about scouting! The Smith Family Farm II LLC (located at 4402 State Rte. 52, Jeffersonville)  is having  their “Grand Opening Fall Festival” Saturday, October 19th at Noon! Go check out their new fully stocked store and enjoy some food from the farm!

A “Special Blood Drive” honoring the memory of Audra Spath will be held at the Hankins-Fremont Firehouse (located at 20 Newman Hill Rd., Hankins) on Saturday, October 26th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Audra was a very special person to me, having taught and worked with me  in the field of Emergency Medicine and personally becoming a very good friend. Audra was a devoted community member, caring teacher, loving wife, and a proud mother to her twins Karlee & Kara. Please follow Audra ‘s spirit and generosity for life by donating blood to help save lives. Your contribution will make a difference! The Grace Johansen Foundation is launching a new project for teens in Sullivan County! The “Spark Grant” offers up to $250 to support youth -led projects within Sullivan County. Bright ideas such as beautifying a public space, starting a new community program, supporting a school club’s activities or any undertaking to improve a local community! Thought: After you have finished with the pumpkins you used to decorate with , take out candles /off any added decorations on the pumpkin and put them in the garden or throw them in the woods. The forest animals , deer, birds, foxes, and more love pumpkin!
