Laverne Mary Battipaglia, age 99, of Watchung, NJ passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater, NJ.

She was born on February 13, 1925 in Liberty, NY and was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther Taylor.

Laverne worked in corporate accounting for Bell Labs in NYC and Murray Hill, NJ when she settled and resided in Watchung, NJ for over fifty years. Her beloved husband, Vincent W. Battipaglia, passed away in 1985.

Laverne loved the beach, traveling, and nature. She especially enjoyed traveling to St. Augustine, FL and California where she loved to visit family. She also enjoyed spending time at the Warrenbrook Senior Center. Laverne will always be remembered for her generosity and pleasant demeanor.

Survivors include her cousin Gerald Bretag of Petaluma, CA, her sister-in-laws Dolores Battipaglia of Danbury, CT and Maeve Battipaglia of Sag Harbor, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 10:30am at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Graveside service will follow at 1:15pm at St. Raymond New Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx, NY.
