Lynne Carieri, a longtime Orange County resident passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1st, 2023. She was 82 years old. 

The daughter of the late Francis Langion and Milly Backstrom, Lynne was born in Queens, N.Y. on August 11, 1940. 

Lynne worked for American Airlines, and as a manager of Fabric Tree and JoAnn’s Fabrics. In 1981, Lynne married Robert “Bob” Carieri and moved to Bloomingburg where she resided for over four decades. 

Her most cherished roles were as a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. A letter written by Lynne before her passing reads: “Love you always, Mom, Lynne, Grandma, Great-Grandma. How wonderful it has been for me to be all these beautiful names.”

Lynne is predeceased by her husband and left behind an incredible legacy. She is survived by her daughters: Susan Edwards and Leo Cosgrove of Baldwinsville, Donna Edwards Wise of Georgetown, Texas, Nancy Edwards Price and Bobby Mapes of Monticello, Lisa and Justin Lozza of Port Jervis, and Lori Colantuno and Andrew Ferber of San Diego; a brother Steven Langion of Telluride, Colorado; fourteen grandchildren: Kyle and Colleen Seeley, Caitlyn and Chase Perry, Jillian and Michael Golden, Justin Mapes and Amanda Bongiovi, Spencer Roveto, Nicole Colantuono, Sara Mapes, Joseph Colantuono, Dylan Price and Madison Ferber; her four great-grandchildren: Landon Ball, Lucy Lynne Golden, Molly Golden and Jack Seeley; and her niece: Amanda Sue Langion. 

At Lynne’s request there will be a private burial in the family plot at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
