SYRACUSE – The Monticello High School Trap Team wrapped up their Spring Season at the state tournament on June 6th in Syracuse.  While they didn’t bring home any medals this year, they braved rain and wind to put up some very good scoring across all levels of play among the several hundred participants there that day.  Top 10 finishes were posted by Sophie Kuchar (4th Place Novice Female, scoring 74 out of 100) and Dillon Cole (9th Place Varsity Male, scoring 95 out of 100).  Leo Messenger posted a perfect round of 25 while there.  In recognizing their achievements for the regular season, the team held an award night following their final range day at their home field at the Sullivan County Conservation Club.  The league gives special recognition to those who achieve a 19+ average for the season, with this achievement being reached by Aiden Schnitzer, Dillon Cole, Leo Messenger, Liam Brasington, Jaden Washington, and Kenny Walz.  Other awards included:

• Most Improved this season (m): Shaia Friehling

• Most Improved this season (f): Lauren Bastone

• Most Improved vs. last season (m): Sam Drabin-Gray

• Most Improved vs. last season (f): Maci McGinnis
