NEVERSINK  — Town Bookkeeper Teri Lockheart discussed the potential of setting up a committee for the further exploration of the Park and Recreation bylaws within the Town Board of Neversink.

The bookkeeper stated  at the town board meeting on September 11 that she would sit on the committee, in addition to a number of inividuals, including  Parks and Rec. Director, Tanya Huggler.

Councilperson Ric Coombe Jr. suggested having Councilperson Scott Grey on the committee as well. Grey agreed to serve.

Supervisor Chris Mathews suggested giving Grey a break since he’s been working hard already. However, Grey insisted it would be no problem to him.

“I’ll sit on it, it doesn’t bother me,” stated Grey.

Lockheart confirmed that Huggler would be in charge of the commmittee and Councilperson Nicole Gorr would be the town board        liaison.

 Security cameras

Lockheart stated that she looked into the proposed security cameras, as previously reported by the Democrat.

She confirmed that the whole setup will not happen this year.

Councilperson Ric Coombe agreed.

Gorr added that especially with the fairgrounds, it’s worth taking another look into, agreeing with Coombe that they “have to be able to share that Wi-Fi because we have mutual benefit.”

“So I think the 42 Park is something we’ll have to think about,” noted Coombe. “I think the dogpound could be basic camera-out-of-a-box system. The system we put at the ice rink was $1,500 - $1,800, it wasn’t a crazy amount a number. They’re real easy to put up at this point if you’ve got power.”

He noted that the town highway barn and the transfer station were somewhere that he thinks they should get to.

Coombe said he thought   this was the highest priority for next year.
