Peter Adam Diehl of Callicoon, NY, a dairy farmer and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home. He was 79. The son of the late Arthur A. and Ethel A. Keim Diehl, he was born December 23, 1944 in Callicoon, NY.

Peter was a member of the Coon Rock Hunting Club, and he had been a member of the Jeffersonville Lutheran Church; a Board Member at Cornell Cooperative Extension in Liberty, NY, Sullivan County Beekeepers Association and was a former Fire commissioner at Kenoza Lake Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Alice V. Gain Diehl, at home; three sons, Peter Diehl, Jr. and his wife Janice, Thomas Diehl and his wife Jennifer and Adam Diehl and his wife Annette; one daughter, Brenda Hofer and her husband Matthew; two brothers, William Diehl and his wife Carole and John Diehl, Sr. and his wife Helen; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Long, all of Callicoon, NY; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many others who affectionally called him “Grandpa” or “Poppy”; and many nieces, nephews and some cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Arthur Diehl.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11 AM in the First Presbyterian Church of Jeffersonville, 4907 State Route 52, Jeffersonville, NY. Pastor Virginia Bossley will officiate.

Dignified cremation provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC; burial will be in the Diehl Family Cemetery.
