FALLSBURG –– There’s no slowing down for Jordyn Wall-Carty, the next student in our player spotlight. Last month, Jordyn played her final volleyball game with the Fallsburg Comets, bringing an end to an exceptional season and career. Jordyn is a gritty player, not afraid to get down for digs in a game while playing defense, and works smart on offense, playing selflessly to support her teammates.
As a multi-sport player, Jordyn has now moved on to her winter sport of choice, indoor track, where she competes in the 55-meter dash, 4x200 relay, and long jump. In the spring, Jordyn competes in outdoor track and competes in the long jump, triple jump, 4x100 relay, and 100-meter dash.
According to Jordyn’s father, Sean Wall-Carty she has maintained superintendent honor roll status since the fourth grade, and she is ranked number three in her class. Recently, Jordyn was the recipient of the Al Rasnick Do the Right Thing Award. This award recognizes students who went above and beyond in helping other students in need or intervening in unacceptable behavior. These students have shown what it means to be a strong role model and positive influence.
Not only does Jordyn play hard on the court she works just as hard in the classroom. While many seniors have already committed to their college of choice Jordyn has narrowed it down to three: Florida Tech her top choice, Southern New Hampshire, and New Haven University where she plans to major in forensic psychology.
Congratulations Jordyn. Continue to work hard and be a positive role model for years to come.
